The main city is Kahuta
, a small city with lots of surrounding villages. In rural areas there are lots of people who work in agriculture growing crops like wheat. And this is also the main source of income for them. From a business point of view Kahuta is not developed as much as Kallar or Gujar khan.Recently Tehsil Kahuta has shown some improvement many areas though tehsil is deprived of special attention from higher authorities .Influence of KRL on tehsil can't be denied.KRL influence the Tehsil Kahuta in positive manners so people are getting awareness and interested in education and knowledge. Kahuta has many great educational institutes in her valley like Govt Boys High School ,Kahuta (GBHS,Kahuta) and Govt Degree College Kahuta. Govt Boys High School Kahuta established in 1926 is the oldest institute of region.This institute served as mother of education and knowledge for region.People from surrounding area like Nurh , Matore , Kashmir and Kallar had been coming to get education from GBHS,Kahuta. So, this institute has produced many high profile personalities mention below in notable personalities.Kahuta Institute of Technology(KIT) is an another new institute to contribute in field of technical education like Electronics,Civil , Electrical and computer Engineering.Degree college kahuta has own contribution in science education. Recently Govt College of Commerce at Kotli link Road has started B.COM classes for Boys and Girls this is another step towards the improvement of educational standards in Tehsil Kahuta.So,journey of education and knowledge which was started by GBHS Kahuta is now getting its peak and younger generation is found of education and knowledge.This journey of knowledge and education certainly will change the fate of people . Health facilities are not enough and sufficient though private sector is contributing in health sector . Tehsil Head Quarter Hospital always has lack of doctors and paramedical staff . So, special attention is required . This area is also famous as breeding ground for army for centuries and still a large segment of population is serving in different Departments of Pakistan army. kahuta is beautiful but the major portion of this tehsil is underdeveloped which shows negligence on the part of elected parliamentarians of this area. one of the main problem facing the population of this area is the increasing level of crimes as this tehsil has only one police station since its establishment in 1889.
