In the past, Funtana was famous for freshwater springs. More intensive development of tourism started in the 1960s, when in the attractive coastal area from Zelena laguna (Green Lagoon) to Valkanela several campsites and a hotel village were built, as well as numerous rooms and suites in family houses.
Today Funtana stretches on both sides of the road Poreč
