 signed an agreement to build the world's first Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi. At the time it was expected that the park was to open in 2008, however, delays saw it bumped back until 2010. Construction began in November 2008 and was completed in under two years. In mid 2010, it was announced that Ferrari World would open on October 28, 2010. This opening was delayed by a week due to the passing of Ras al-Khaimah

 of 2200 metres (7,217.8 ft). The theme park, measuring 86000 square metres (102,855.1 sq yd), is located under this 50 metres (164 ft) high roof. These factors make Ferrari World the largest indoor theme park in the world.

 adorns the roof of the building and measures 65 metres (213.3 ft) by 48.5 metres (159.1 ft) - the largest Ferrari logo ever created. 12,370 tonnes of steel has been used to support this roof. The centre of the roof is marked by a 100 metres (328.1 ft) glazed funnel. The structure was declared complete on 29 October 2009 with the park due to open one year later.

Attractions

Jack Rouse Associates, a Cincinnati based visitor experience design firm, is responsible for the design of most of the park's 20 rides. On July 20, 2010 Ferrari World announced the names of all of the opening day attractions.
  • Bell'Italia (Beautiful Italy) - an exhibit showcasing recreations of famous Italian cityscapes, structures and racing venues. Guests can choose to drive a Ferrari 250 California Spyder throughout the exhibit or walk the 570 metres (1,870.1 ft) network of paths.
  • Carousel - Ferrari’s version of the traditional carousel featuring prototype cars.
  • Cinema Maranello - a theatre showcasing a film which takes guests back to the 1920s.
