Fata
Encyclopedia
The FATA or FC-ATA is a type of computer hard disk drive. FATA is simply the low cost ATA
or SATA
disk drive equipped with a small external converter, that changes the interface to Fibre Channel
(FC). This allows users to use the disk in the enterprise-class disk enclosure
, at about half of the cost of a native FC drive (cost per gigabyte of capacity).
AT Attachment
Parallel ATA , originally ATA, is an interface standard for the connection of storage devices such as hard disks, solid-state drives, floppy drives, and optical disc drives in computers. The standard is maintained by X3/INCITS committee...

Fibre Channel
Fibre Channel, or FC, is a gigabit-speed network technology primarily used for storage networking. Fibre Channel is standardized in the T11 Technical Committee of the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards , an American National Standards Institute –accredited standards...

Disk enclosure
A disk enclosure is essentially a specialized chassis designed to hold and power disk drives while providing a mechanism to allow them to communicate to one or more separate computers. Drive enclosures provide power to the drives therein and convert the data sent across their native data bus into a...
