For years she worked in a clothing store and was known for her fondness of jewelry. Her husband died in 1978. She moved to Regency Cove, an assisted-living facility in Glen Cove, New York

In 2005, Greenberg was featured as the 50th and last person in the book "Wisdom of the World's Oldest People" by Jerry Friedman, which featured recollections of people aged 108 and older, both validated and unvalidated.

Greenberg was survived by a huge extended family, headed by her daughter, Claire Greenberg Rivers, and her only surviving sibling, her brother, Max Adler, of Ottawa.
