Fang Jing started working for CCTV in 1994 after graduating from China's top school for broadcasting and spent 4 months in Harvard university

. She has hosted a number of shows including the three day live coverage of the Transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong and other millennium celebrations.

2009 spy accusation incident

In 2009 Fang Jing was rumoured to be seduced by a man from Taiwan who was eight years younger than her. She received money from him. She then made her last broadcast appearance on March 1. Fang herself claimed she was not a spy. She was interviewed by Sina
