The football team was founded in 1968 by football-loving people from the Brăneşti

After a first season in which Victoria's objective was to avoid relegation, and succeeded, finishing 8th, came the 2008–09 season where at the end the team celebrated a historic promotion to Liga II

Like any new promoted team, the objective for the 2009–10 season was to finish as high in the table as possible.

The club exceeded all expectations by finishing 1st in the series, and promoted for the very first time in history to Liga I
