History

Erandol was formarly known as Ek Chakra Nagari at the time of Pandavas and after that the name of the town was Arunawati. A Ganesh-temple is located on the outskirts of this town in a small village. In shashtra's Padmalaya is known as "Purna Peeth" which is one of the "Sade Teen Peeth" in India.

Erandol is located at 20.92°N 75.33°E. It has an average elevation of 227 metres (744 feet).

The East-West Corridor - National Highway 6 or Asian Highway 46, which connects Mumbai and Nagpur connects the town with Dhule to the west and Jalgaon to the east. Nearest railway station is Dharangaon on Surat Line, about 12 km & Mhasawad on Mumbai Line about 14 km. Erandol shares borders with Dharangaon, Pachora, Bhadgaon, Parola talukas.
Padmalaya is one of the famous Lord Ganesha's temple 12 km from Erandol . The speciality of this temple is that it has two idols of Ganesha. About one kilometer from the temple is a place where fighting of Bhima

Erandol is well famous in the region for its basic and highschool level education. R T Kabre Highschool is worth mentioning, which is located on NH6, and has been a place responsible for development of quite a few big personalities in the region. There are also good Urdu teaching schools, which are centres for learning for the surrounding rural population.

Jama Masjid forms a large quadrangle surrounded by a wall a great part of which has a succession of windows with stone lattice work of various patterns.on either side of the mehrab(imam's praying place) are arched recesses surrounded by beautiful and varied scroll work, with the crescent and star on the tops of each.The central Masjid has a massive roof of great blocks and beams of stone still bearing traces of red and yellow colouring, the whole supported on large stone pillars ornamented with flowers.
