Er Teck Hwa

Er Teck Hwa is a Malaysian politician and is currently the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia
for the Bakri
constituency in the State of Johor
. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party
(DAP) party in the Pakatan Rakyat
opposition coalition.
The Star
columnist Lee Yuk Peng has said that Er has impacted parliament with his "efforts to bring issues close to the heart for parliamentary deliberation" and had the "reputation of being a hard working and dedicated MP" prepared to ask questions in parliament despite his lack of proficiency in Malay.

Presistence paid off for Er when his second emergency motion on the accident involving an express bus was allowed to be debated in the Parliament House on 3 November 2010. His first emergency motion on the fatal accident in Simpang Ampat on 14 Oct 2010 but it was dismissed on 18 Oct 2010. This was also the first emergency motion to be allowed for year 2010 as most of them were rejected on grounds that there was no urgency for the matters raised.
