It was started before the Second World War on "Battle Green". At the time is was a small event catering only for the local area. Over the years the show has grown and changed with the nature of what the local people wanted and expected. The Show nowadays still has a very agricultural feel to it, with cattle

The Show has excellent links with the three local churches in Epworth. The Different churches come together with a Sunday evening service, then on Show Day, they have a Tent with information about their different activities.

Organisation

The Show is run by the Epworth and District Agricultural Society. A committee made up of different members of the community and local area, bringing a mix of skills and talents as well as being made up of Funding & Honourary Life Members, as well as Patrons. The Society is now a charitable organisation.

Events

The Organisation runs three different events through the Summer Calendar:
  1. The Epworth Show - which takes place on August Bank Holiday, it includes a range of entertainment, children's entertainment, goat

The Showfield

The show has had several different site in its life span. All within Epworth itself. The early years were on Battle Green, Epworth. It later moved down Scawcett Lane and moved around a couple of fields there. The Society finally found a permanent site which is now its home. Located on Wroot Road, the Show has been there for almost 20 years and in that time they have purchased more land and built a variety of facilities which are used by the Show and other events that take place there.
