Geography

Emmetten has an area, , of 25 square kilometres (9.7 sq mi). Of this area, 37.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 45.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (13.7%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
