 for Elmer Espiritu for the 36th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governor’s Cup after the Express and the Alaska Aces formally agreed in a trade.

The Express acquired the 36th season’s fourth overall pick 6’4 Espiritu from the Aces who received 6’3 veteran wingman Wesley Gonzales in return, according to Air21 mentor Bong Ramos.

Ramos said both teams have benefited in the trade since Espiritu is known in playing open running type of game while the seven-year pro Gonzales is also capable of hitting consistently from the perimeter and three-point line.

“We are very excited to have Elmer (Espiritu) in our roster in the coming conference. He is very athletic and good defender for the No. 3 position which we need,” said Ramos. “I’m confident he can maximize his talent here in our team.”

Espiritu, a former University of the East forward, is defensive-minded player although his talent was not often utilize during his first two conferences in Alaska, a team known to its effective system and discipline. He stayed most of the time in the bench.
