El Último de la Fila was a Spanish music group created in the mid 1980s in Barcelona, Spain. The original members were Manolo García

History

Los Burros eventually changed their name to El Último de la Fila and won the rough cuts contest of the Rock Spezial magazine with their songs A cualquiera puede sucederle and Cuando la pobreza entra por la puerta, el amor salta por la ventana.

They then joined the independent music company PDI and in 1985, where they recorded their first full album, Cuando la pobreza entra por la puerta, el amor salta por la ventana. Their original pop style and the subtle flamenco

 touch in Manolo's voice made the group sound fresh and new. Enemigos de lo ajeno followed in 1986 with an even bigger success among the independent groups. The song Insurrección was chosen best song of the year by the Rock the Lux magazine. Nuevas mezclas came out in 1987, with an improved recording quality and a higher budget.

Their next album, Como la cabeza al sombrero sold more than 400,000 copies and they played in widely attended concerts in Spain and South America

, they record their next album, Nuevo pequeño catálogo de seres y estares in 1990. This album reaches #1 in Afyve's sales list. They also founded their own music company Perro Records.

After another big tour around Spain, Europe and South America they record Astronomía razonable in 1993, which becomes the first Spanish album to stay #1 in the sales list for ten weeks. It also went gold disc in Venezuela and Mexico.

The next tour is spectacular and includes scenography designed by Els Comediants theatre group.

In 1995 they launch La rebelión de los hombres rana, and go on another tour also in collaboration with Els Comediants, including songs from their 14 years of history in their repertoire (also from the Los Rápidos and Los Burros eras).

Three years later (13 January 1998) Manolo García and Quimi Portet announced they would continue their music careers separately.
