Eglwyscummin is a Community
Ward about 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of Whitland
in Carmarthenshire
. It incorporates Marros, Cyfig and the village of Red Roses
. It consists mostly of farmland and is crossed by a main road route to the once popular holiday resort of Pendine Sands
and the main route to south Pembrokeshire
and the Pembroke Dock
ferry port.
County Council administer the area with Eglwyscummin Community Council providing some local direction. Eglwyscummin Community Association has, on occasion, been responsible for providing a more open forum for general members of the Community. So too had The Taf Myrddin Community Network which provided a direct interface between the County Council Executive and the general public. Although successful, the Network was ended by the County Council in early 2009.
