Eduardo Liendo Zurita is a Venezuela

During the 1960s, participated in the left guerrilla movement against Venezuelan democracy. From that, was arrested between 1962 until 1967 and then exiled in Europe, living in Switzerland

. His first novel: El mago de la cara de vidrio, in 1973, was described as a brilliant and satirical review of the power of television in modern society. In 1975, finished his second novel about political espionage entitled Los Topos. During 1978, published a novella titled Mascarada, using humorism as a critic of Venezuelan society. This novel won Honorable Mention in the "Fiction City Award" (Caracas, 1978) and the Pedro León Zapata
humor prize in 1981. Liendo, has used literature to maintain a critical position in the country politics, currently maintains a critical attitude to the government of Hugo Chávez

(1976–2001) and in 1977, was one of the founders of the literary group "Calicanto", belonging until 1979. Had published novels and short story anthologies. In 1985, received the Municipal Prize for Literature. and in 1990, the CONAC book award (From the former national council of culture of Venezuela). Liendo is married to Yesca Murúa since 1982.
