Edgemont Village is a small commercial area in the District of North Vancouver

. It is centred around the intersection of Edgemont Boulevard and Highland Boulevard in the north-western part of the District. "The Village", as it is known locally, has become the community hub for nearby residential neighbourhoods.

History
Residential development in the Capilano Highlands area began in the late 1930's, following the completion of the Lions Gate Bridge. In 1947, the first shops opened, including a dry goods store, a restaurant, and a pharmacy. As the surrounding residential developments grew in size, so did the commercial area, and in 1955, business owners formed the Highlands Business Association. Other developments included a branch of the District of North Vancouver public library, a fire station (since relocated), and a community policing office.Community hub
