to operate the new .eu
top-level domain

EURid is a consortium of three European ccTLD
operators: DNS Belgium
(.be), IIT-CNR
(.it) and NIC-SE (.se). It has been established in Belgium
, having its headquarters in Brussels
. In October 2006, they opened their first branch office in Stockholm
. Two further branch offices have been opened in Italy
and the Czech Republic
.
EURid uses registry software based on the DNS Belgium
system. It makes use of the Extensible Provisioning Protocol
(EPP) which enables registrars
to perform operations on .eu domain name
