Dubai Meydan city is expected to be completed in 2012, while Meydan racecourse officially opened on 27 March 2010.

Meydan is the culmination of the vision of Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Makhtoum; UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Chairman of the Board and CEO of Meydan is Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, two other Board Members include Vice Chairman Ahmad Al Shaikh and Malih Lahej Al Basti.
