with the Theater Class of 2007. He also has an older brother named Brett who is a professional Speed-boarder.
He also had guest appearances on True Jackson VP and Criminal Minds
in 2008.
From 2008 to 2009, he appeared as Colin in the Ironsink produced webseries Upstairs Girls. He also made two cameos as the Colin character in another webseries Cougars, also produced by Ironsink, a collective of webshows with a shared continuity/universe.
In April 2009, he was cast as a SORASed (rapidly aged) Michael Corinthos III
on General Hospital

reporter Cathleen O’Toole in an interview about his dismissal from General Hospital. Garrett stated, “Whether I stayed on the show one year or four years or two years, it was a great experience regardless and a great tool for my career.” Garrett was inspired by his fans efforts to keep him on the series and made the following statement, “I'm trying to stay 100 percent confident, because you got to in this kind of business. But it's hard not to when you have so many people providing you so much support”.
Garrett portrayed the role for 11 months, earning an Emmy "pre-nomination" in the Outstanding Younger Actor category in March 2010. On May 12, 2010, Garrett earned his first Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Michael Corinthos III on General Hospital.
In July 2010, rumors began circulating that Garrett would appear on The Young & The Restless as a recast Noah Newman
. These rumors began after the character's most recent portrayer Kevin Schmidt
left the role in February and later revealed that he would not be returning. These rumors were later revealed to be false.
