History
Dordon was just a row of Houses until the Opening of Birch Coppice mine and it has grown since then. There was a big growth in the village in 1920 and Dordon became a civil parish in its own right on 01 Apr 1948, The biggest growth came in 1960 when the village more than tripled in size. The mine closed in 1987.Demographics
