Bobbio Abbey

Bobbio Abbey is a monastery founded by Irish Saint Columbanus in 614, around which later grew up the town of Bobbio, in the province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is dedicated to Saint Columbanus...

. In 1923 it was combined with the territorial Abbey of San Columbano, with official name diocese of Bobbio-San Colombano. As reorganised in 1986, it became part of the archdiocese of Genova-Bobbio. In a subsequent change, it was transferred, to the diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio, in 1989.
