Didiayer Snyder joined the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team in season five. Snyder has become well known as the down to earth and kind spirited "Didi" to her cast, and fans around the world. "Each episode features a family that has faced some sort of recent or ongoing hardship – such as a natural disaster or a family member with a life-threatening illness. The shows producers coordinate with a local construction contractor, which then coordinates with various companies in the building trades for a makeover of the family's home. That includes interior, exterior and landscaping, which is performed in seven days while the family is on vacation (paid for by the shows producers), which is documented in the episode. If the house is beyond repair, they replace it entirely. The shows producers and crew film set and perform the makeover but do not pay for it. The materials and labor are donated. Many skilled and unskilled volunteers assist in the rapid construction of the home.Travel Channel
Snyder began working with the Travel Channel in 2005, as the host of Amazing Vacation Homes. "The show focuses on regional homes from around the world which are typically perceived as being 'bizarre', 'unique', or of course, 'amazing'. In each episode, the host focuses on the homes of a particular country, region or style. Among the many amazing homes displayed in the show, some of the more amazing can be found in: tree houses, lighthouses and sublime meadows, among many other places."
