History

The team participates at international and European tournaments. The only international tournament it took part in 2005, were the World University Games, where it finished 26th out of 30 participating nations.

Cyprus national basketball team was two-time Promotion Cup finalist (1990, 1994).

The team's results have improved considerably in recent years. Cyprus has repeatedly retained the European minor countries tournament
