History

The club began in the year 1954 as the basketball department of the Oldenburger TB sports club. In the year 2001, the basketball department of Oldenburger TB formed a new separate club, called EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

In the season of 2008/2009 EWE Baskets Oldenburg achieved their greatest succes by winning the German Championship title. As German Champion Oldenburg played in the Euroleague
