In 2008 The Girls Basketball team defeated DeSoto to win their first ever State Championship. The Lady Bobcats repeated as State Champs in 2010.
The 1970-71 Boy's basketball team was the Texas State Champ and voted as the National Champions. The boys basketball team also went to the Final Four in 1969-70 and 1977-78.

History
The Cypress and Fairbanks school districts (an area now in northwest Houston) consolidated in 1939 and yet another new facility was built. Cy-Fair High School was opened in the spring of 1941.
