 parents in 1938, Conrad Mieschke was raised, educated, apprenticed and worked as a bookbinder and book restorer in Germany. During that time, he competed in two national bookbinding competitions; his work was award silver at the first competition, gold at the second. He undertook further studies at The Graphic Academy

. By 1970, he decided to pursue his ambition of being a full-time artist.

Shortly thereafter, his wife died in a car accident; this left him to support and raise his young son Paul solely through his artistic endeavors. Paul has since graduated from University of Toronto and is a licensed, practising Physiotherapist.

Since 1971, he has continuously exhibited at the Eaton's Art Gallery in Toronto, with numerous one-man shows and group shows until the gallery's closure in 1987. Since then, he exhibited at various commercial galleries in Ontario
