A CBT allows a rider to ride a moped up to 50 cc with a provisional licence from 16 years of age, and a motorbike up to 125 cc with a full or provisional car licence from 17 years of age.
As of February 2011 learner riders in Northern ireland must complete the CBT as based on the U.K one.
