The Colonia-Hochhaus is the tallest building used primarily for residential purposes in Germany
. It is located in the Cologne
district of Riehl and was completed in 1973. It is 147 meters (with antenna 155 meters) high. From 1973 to 1976 it was the tallest building in Europe.
The pool on the ground floor overlooking the Rhine measures 8 meters x 15 meters. In addition, there is a separate children's pool. The house also has a Finnish sauna with plunge pool and relaxation room, a fitness room and table tennis facilities.
Also on the ground floor there is a grocery store with about 250 m² of space, a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Rhine, and a bar and bowling alleys. Also, a doctor's office and a municipal kindergarten are found there.
was known by its advertising slogan of Colonia, with the insurance group, the Cologne Colonia recruited who was acquired in 1997 by the AXA
Group. Accordingly it was replaced in 1998 the advertising slogan at the highest point of the house by AXA, with the name of the house remained unchanged.
It was also the tallest all-residential building in Europe from 1973-2001 and the tallest building in Cologne upon completion. In this function it was surpassed in 2001 by the KölnTurm (149 meters without and 165.48 meters with antenna).

The Colonia-Haus has 45 floors with a total of 373 units including 352 one-and multi-room apt-flats in size from 35 to 118 m² in the floors 3 to 41 and on the ground floor commercial space, 1 and 2nd floor OG.Technology and Equipment
The tower is equipped with four-speed elevators each for up to 18 people, garbage chutes on all floors, partial air-conditioning in the apartments and additional heating.
