CollegeNET, Inc. was founded as Universal Algorithms, Inc. in 1977. The company changed its name in May 1999.

The company launched in 1977 with its flagship product, Schedule25, a scheduling software algorithm invented by President and Founder Jim Wolfston.

CollegeNET has been awarded several patents for its web-based forms technology.
