The city of Coldwater
is at the center of the township, though it is administratively autonomous. However, the Coldwater urban area extends well into the surrounding township. There are no other incorporated municipalities within the township.

living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males.
