. He was drafted in the 8th slot (7th overall) in the 2009 Philippine Basketball Association
's 2009 Rookie Draft by the Ginebra Kings, but was traded to Purefoods in the same week.
Prior to being drafted in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL), Timberlake competed in the 2009 Flex Unity Cup as Point Guard
for the Oracle Titans. While with the Titans, he helped the squad capture their 7th straight PBL Championship. As one of their key players, Timberlake also nabbed the Finals MVP trophy. Timberlake is known for his quiet disposition; onlookers have compared him to NBA stars like Chris Paul
and Tim Hardaway
