After The Show

Eventual winner Yin Ge 殷歌 (Angela) didn't receive the promoted prizes of a contract with NEXT models and work with Pantene due to her violation of the rules on the show about being signed pre-show. Although she was not signed she did indeed do runway work for a Chinese agency, which was also out of bounds with the rules. Yin Ge also lied about the work in her application for China's Next Top Model but since she didn't think she was going to win, it didn't matter to her at the time. Since then it has also been revealed that Ma Shu-Yi 馬舒怡 (Vivian) and Zhu Feng 朱楓 (Icy) did preshow work as well with other agencies.

Banned S&M Shoot

According to many online sources, the models participated in an S&M-themed photoshoot the first week, which was consequently banned from ever being shown on television. Only Zhu Feng, Wang Jia and Yin Ge's photo were leaked to the public on the official website for a few days. They were taken down within the week. Also, the images evoke mood of war and destruction, possibly being another reason for their eventual banning, ongoing with China's Tibet controversy.
