, Florida. He served staff tours at Tactical Air Command
, Headquarters, United States Air Force, and served as defense attache to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from 1981 to 1983. He assumed the position of Superintendent at the Academy in June 1987. The general retired on July 1, 1991.
