 is based on the winning idea from a 1985 Design a Maze competition: a hedge maze in the shape of Northern Ireland. It has numerous paths and dead ends with seven central spaces, one for each county

. The maze was planted out in 1986 with over 1,500 mature hornbeam

History

The park originally belonged to the estate of Sir Thomas Dixon

 and Lady Dixon and reverted to Larne Borough Council in 1957. Many of the original features remain, including the walled garden, ice house and lime kilns.
