which voted Social Credit in 1979. Mulroney's Conservatives swept the area in 1988, and 1984 (except for Chrétien's seat). However, in 2004, the Bloc swept the region for the first time before losing ground to the Conservatives in 2006, and no change in 2008.
Regardless, the 2011 NDP surge saw New Democrats sweeping all but two seats in the region. One of those is Conservative, the other is Bloc
