Schools

Calderwood is home to four primary schools: Long Calderwood Primary, Maxwellton Primary, Greenburn Primary and Hunter Primary. These are all due to be rebuilt under South Lanarkshire's Schools Modernisation Programme.

Up until the summer of 2007, there was also one secondary school in the area named Hunter High. However, it merged with the nearby Claremont High in St Leonards
