History
The town was struck by the 1980 Irpinia earthquake on November 23. The town had to be rebuilt after the serious damage that was inflicted. It is in the earthquake region so it is prone to small earthquakes once every couple of months. A mountainous region surrounds Calabritto and gives it its truly scenic views.Geography
