History

The name "Cairo" comes from the Latin "carium", himself coming from the ligurian word "car", meaning "stone".

This area, according to many archaeological finds, was inhabited since the Neolithic age.

There were built two important ways during the roman domination, "Via Emilia Scauri" and "via Julia Augusta".
