Bruck Easton is a Windsor

lawyer and a member of the Liberal Party of Canada
. He is a former president of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada
and was a candidate for the PCs in the 1988, 1997 and 2000 federal elections in the riding of Windsor—St. Clair
.
He was born in Windsor, graduating with a B.A. from Carleton University
in 1975, and with a law degree from the University of Ottawa
in 1978. Easton has practised law since 1980 in the areas of commercial, estate and taxation law.
Easton was elected as the PC’s national treasurer in 1999, shortly after helping to elect Joe Clark
as Leader. The party was massively in debt at that time following the 1997 election, the loss of Jean Charest
to the Quebec Liberals and the onslaught of the Reform Party of Canada

. Following two presidential resignations, Easton was elected Party President in late 2000 and he was the last to serve in that post. Together with Fundraising Chair, Irving Gerstein
, Easton kept the party finances afloat through the 2000 election campaign and left the party solvent at the time of the its amalgamation with the Canadian Alliance in December 2003.
Easton became disaffected with the new Conservative Party of Canada
after Stephen Harper
was elected leader. During the June 2004 federal election, he announced that he would support the Liberal candidate in Windsor St. Clair, That riding’s name was later changed to Windsor-Tecumseh and in the 2006 election Easton ran there as the Liberal candidate, coming second to New Democratic Party
incumbent Joe Comartin.
