Choral Program
From the schools opening in 1984 to 2003, the Broadneck High School chorus' were under the direction of Ms. Jane Daugherty. The chorus originally met, all men and women together, during the day as a regularly scheduled class. With the addition of 9th grade into High School and separated from Junior High in 1997, Ms. Daugherty created the Freshman Chorus. In the 2000-2001 school year, Ms. Daugherty separated men and women and had two choral classes each day in the A/B Day schedule - creating the Broadneck Chorus, Men's Chorus, and Women's Chorus. In the 2002-2003 school year, Ms. Daugherty created the Broadneck Chamber Choir, a choral group that received its own class and was by audition only. After a long legacy of one of the most successful choral programs in the State of Maryland, Ms. Daugherty retired from her position as choral director and President of the Music Department at Broadneck in 2003.
