. This breed descended from the Tyrolean Steinschaf (Stone Sheep). The Braunes Bergschaf spend their summers roaming high alpine meadows and returning to the lowlands in the fall for shearing. The primary use of this breed is meat and vegetation management

Characteristics

The Braunes Bergschaf is brown (unicolored) and the ears hang down.

Rams weigh 80 to 100 kg (176.4 to 220.5 lb) and ewes weigh 65 to 75 kg (143.3 to 165.3 lb).
