. Schlegel also played for the Canadian National Team for many years, and was part of the Canadian Men's Hockey Teams that played in the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympic Games, and won the Silver Medal both times.

In 1994 appears in EA Sports NHL video game and holds the record of scoring 32 goals against opponents while playing without a goaltender.

In 1995, Schlegel began playing professional hockey in Austria and Germany.
