with the Lincoln Park Public Schools. The two districts have sought to sever the more than 50-year old relationship, citing cost savings that could be achieved by both districts and complaints by Lincoln Park that it is granted only one seat on the Boonton Public Schools' Board of Education. In April 2006, the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education
rejected the request.
As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 582 students and 44 classroom teachers (on a FTE
basis, for a student–teacher ratio of 13.23.
The school was the 130th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 322 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly
magazine's September 2010 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", after being ranked 112th in 2008 out of 316 schools. The school was ranked 128th in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.
