The Bloor Cinema is a second-run theatre, meaning, it shows movies that have already been in theatres, usually before they are released on video and DVD. The theatre screens classic films, art films, and cult classics. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The theatre is proudly independent. The Bloor Cinema was reopened after renovation in 1999, and celebrated the 100th anniversary of its building in 2005.

As of July 2008, regular movie tickets at Bloor Cinema cost $9 the first time, which includes a six month membership at the theatre. For the duration of the membership and upon presentation of the membership card, the cost of a ticket is $6. No membership is required for seniors and children they are always $3. There are also "happy hour" prices for the first film of the day at around 2:30 in the afternoon, and all of Monday.
