From 1968 on, Betûl Mardin dedicated herself to public relations. Between 1976 and 1982, she served as the president of the Turkish Public Relations Association. She was elected president of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) in 1995. In 1996, Betûl Mardin became the founding president of the Turkish Public Relations Association. For her contribution to the progress of public relations profession, she was awarded "Lifetime Honorary Member" of IPRA in 1998. The same year, Betûl Mardin became a member of the European Public Relations Confederation (CERP). She is member of several public relations institutions in Turkey and internationally.

She co-founded in 1987 I.M.A.G.E., as well as Strateji and public relations company representing Weber Shandwick Worldwide Inc. in Turkey. On the company’s long customer list are renowned multi-national and global enterprises, non-governmental organization
