. The town was named for the nearby Beanblossom Creek, which was in turn named for a person whose surname was Beanblossom.
Bean Blossom is best known as the home of the Bill Monroe

Beautiful Downtown Bean Blossom
The little town is known for its joke t-shirts proclaiming "Beautiful Downtown Bean Blossom," which are popular with music park attendees and local church camp attendees like those at Lutheran Hills, as well as with other tourists who happen to pass through. A contest is held every year to see who can submit a photograph of a Bean Blossom t-shirt in the most exotic location. In the late 1960s, the television show "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" regularly joked about their studio's location in "Beautiful Downtown Burbank." In Bean Blossom, Indiana, this transplanted joke first appeared around 1970 as a painted sign on Carl Brummett's wrecker truck; by 1972, local grocer Jack McDonald began selling "Beautiful Downtown Bean Blossom" t-shirts at his store, and he has continued to do so . . .Geography
