History

Bayswater station opened on 4 December 1889. The current island platform opened in 1982, as part of the duplication of the line between Bayswater and Ringwood

The train maintenance and stabling facilities opened in 1998 and was completed by 1999, and replaced the facilities at Jolimont Yard
