was constructed around 1909 with a depth of 15 m (49 ft) and about 181 tons of rock was removed. The mined ore was not shipped during this period. At the time of World War I
, J.W. Barton transported 550.8 kg (1,214.3 lb) of ore to the mine's branch in Ottawa
for recovery of 42.6 kg (93.9 lb) of molybdenite
. Subsequently, a fire devastated the mine site and boiler
