in a prepared line that lasted 34 moves until his opponent resigned. In the 2004 Olympiad he won in a similar way against Alexander Grischuk
. Among contemporary grandmasters he also has the highest percentage of winning sacrifices, according to the chessgames.com database.
His younger brother Beglar Jobava is also a chess player, an International Master.
