Ayder as a spa and yayla
Although well known locally, the first mention of Ayder in official papers dates back to 1871 when thermal springs in Ayder were noted. The temperature of the water is 550C (1310F) But the most attractive feature of Ayder is dense forestry and a number of waterfalls around Ayder which make up Ayder creek. In 1987 the location was decleared touristic center by the government.Ayder is also famous for honey which is Rhodedendron honey and produced in beehives hung on trees.
